William Butler has five children and one grandchild. He lives with his wife Leslie in the Piney Woods area of Northeast Texas in the small town of Gilmer, placing him almost equidistant between Dallas, Texas and Shreveport, Louisiana.

Born in Washington D.C., William was raised in Los Angeles, California. He joined the Army Military Police in 1975 and served until the latter part of 1982 when he and his wife left the military and settled in Texas to raise their family.

William continued in Law Enforcement until 1990 when he began work with the Texas Attorney General's office. He remained there until 1999 when he started his present career in Information Technology with the local school district in Gilmer.

Prior to writing "I Remember Tomorrow" his concentration had been on short fiction and during his time as a member and twice president of the East Texas Writers' Association, William was honored with several awards in both short fiction and poetry.
